Baby’s Room Blinds

This is a sponsored post for Blinds and Drapery.com, a site offering custom window treatments, they have some really nice ones, I am thinking about getting some to replace the ones in the baby’s room, the ones in there are so old they are all dry and break if you bend them, but I need to talk to the landlord first, I am sure he won’t mind- if nothing else I will get new ones myself and keep the old ones in a closet to put back up when we leave- if I pay 100% then they are coming with me!

I am also looking at doing the same thing with the living room, replacing the normal blinds with some of those shades that block more light and such, to make it more energy efficient in here, I hate paying high electric bills! I am really liking these cellular shades, they look nice, and like they will let in light yet still save energy. Depending on the way to instillation method, we may do the same thing as in the baby room, get them, put up the old ones, and take them with us- but we will see, there is still a lot of other things to get for baby before we can upgrade the house.

Preparing the Nursery

bed setWe are getting there, this weekend we are shopping for lighting fixtures, as the ceiling fan in the nursery is broken, I am hoping to find one that is the same natural light wood color to match the furniture. After that we are getting the crib bedding set (I picked this one from target -picture top left) and we are gonna paint the room a really really light blue since the carpet is blue, then play up the girly part with pinks and flowers.

Time for Shopping

I am in need of maternity clothes, I have 2 pants and three shirts I can wear outside the house. Not enough! LOL As soon as we get our income tax rebate I am heading to Gainesville to do some shopping, I can’t wait! I plan on spending like 50 to 100 dollars, hopefully I will be able to find a consignment shop or something to get some deals. We also need to figure out what we need for the baby, once we know what the sex is we will talk to family to see what they want to do, so we dont end up with 3 strollers or something.

Running out of Books

I have been reading a lot lately, about 2 books a week. Every weekend we go to the flea market and pick up more books, we are in need of a third bookshelf, the books have taken over. I have mainly been reading Steven King and the Noth American Series by the Gears, loving it. I am about to order A New Earth, Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose, looks good and it will be a change from my regular reading. I read too fast though, I am constantly running out of books and I cant seem to stop reading one when I start it, which ends up meaning I stay up till two in the morning to finish one! LOL

Shopping…. My favorite!

While they ask about a loved ones birthday for this opp, I think more important is the mommy to be in need of shoes here! I have 2 pairs, tennis shoes and dress shoes, wait, make that three, I have a pair of boots too. I am not a ’shoe girl’ but I need a new pair, badly, for summer, I want something cool, comfortable, casual, and easy to match with just about everything.

I am torn between the tsubo shoes, minnetonka boots, or the seychelles shoes. It is a hard decision, but surprisingly the prices are pretty good, I am looking at ordering at least two pairs, one for slip on, one for going out.

Since I got pregnant, my normal shoes seem to be tighter, so I need a bigger size, but will that last past the pregnancy? Or will my feet shrink back down to normal after? I hate to spend 60 dollars and then have them be too big in a few months! I might just stick with one pair for now and see where my feet are after the baby before I get another, but I am loving the selection there, if I was made of money there are several I would grab up, one of my favorites are the White Whitney’s, the look comfy, cute, and casual, just my style!
