After all the talk about credit cards I decided to take a peek at my credit report. It is pretty bad! After we get everything worked out and our other money settled I am gonna look into credit repair, this site has a cool article on spotting fake credit repair companies, very useful, as that would be my luck- finally settle on fixing my credit just to get scammed! LOL I like that site, there is a lot of info on credit cards and credit in general, and of course, lots of different card company offers.

I just sat down and made a dinner plan for the next two weeks, after cleaning out the fridge and freezer that got a lot easier. I still have a lot of extra work to do in the kitchen, I want to clean and organize the pantry and cabinets still, then I will make a detailed grocery list, so we wont have any more last minute trips to the store mid week. Once we shop and get the regular things like gas and such I am gonna put the debit card in an envelope in hubby’s wallet, sealed and writ on there “is this more important than a car or things for the baby?” to help us not spend money as much… hopefully it works, we have got to get cought up. We are getting close to needing a second job!

It is official, I need to make more money, or we need to spend less. I keep having to take money out of savings to cover regular bills, and at this rate we will never have enough to get a car by the time the baby gets here. I am seriously at the flip out point. I was looking into getting a credit card but even if we do that it will just add more monthly payment to our list and not really help the situation at all. We just need to manage better.

Our biggest problem is eating out, and mid week trips to the store, just little 10-15 dollar spending here and there adds up so quick! I need to make a better list ans shop for everything at once. I just joined a recipie site to try to get more creative in cooking so we dont eat out as much…. heres to hoping it works!

I feel like I JUST got last weeks budget under control, (we budget weekly since hubby gets paid weekly) and now his next check is here already! Once we get enough in emergency savings I will be able to budget monthly at the end of every month for the next month, leaving each of the three check in there ready for next month, but we are not there yet! :-(

Something you will not find lacking today is choices in credit cards, so figuring out who has the best cash back programs, or where to get an instant approval credit card is not hard to do at all! If you check those links you will find a site just for women to help you get a credit card. It is something my husband and I have been discussing off and on, we have no credit cards right now, by choice, it just made it easier budget wise and savings wise to only have the debit cards and not chance going into debt.

However, with a baby on the way we have been discussing getting one just to have hidden somewhere for emergencies, not to use for everyday expenses or anything, emergency only. That site is helping us narrow down that choice. We have not decided 100% yet if we will go ahead and get one, it is a pretty big decision, scary!

With a baby on the way we are striving to save up for a new (used) car, the truck we have won’t work. As it is, if I make it to 35 weeks we will have only 1700 in savings, not a lot we can do with that, unless we get a junker. What we are hoping is that we will either find a decent car for that (no way at this point we can afford a monthly financing, so we will be buying with cash if possible. If we cant find a decent car for 1700, then we will keep saving until January, and use the truck until then, I can sit in the fold down backseat behind the baby, since there is no airbag the baby can safely sit in the front of the truck. Of course I don’t want to do that, but I refuse to save for a year and buy a crappy car! We might be able to get a thousand as a trade in for the truck, if we are lucky, we will see, it is really a wait and see game. Until then, lots of coupon codes and living on rice and beans!
