More on Dieting

After my post yesterday I have gotten a few emails asking for some more recommendations of diet sites and pills to check out. This is something actively discussed on one of the forums I am on so I do have a few great links to share. One being a site that rates diet pills, the site has a list of pills and diets, as well as the myths and facts of each, and lays it out there for you. Letting you know which is which and what does what. (Very helpful when you have sooo many choices!) Another good site for information is the weight loss pills reviewed by the weight loss institute. One of the popular ones out there on the forums right now is phentermine, and you can buy phentermine here.

I of course recommend researching any diet before starting, and never take diet pills if you are under 18, pregnant, nursing, or have any other health condition (unless your doctor OK’s that specific pill!) If you have tried dieting and working out and they just don’t work, I don’t see a problem trying pills, as long as you are safe and can afford it!

Baby Stuff

So far so good, we have most of what we need, including two strollers and car seats! LOL Tonight I will have hubby help to get the baby room picked up and take some pictures, it is soooo cute! The only BIG things we still need are a dresser, a swing, and a play yard. Everything else is small and will be easy to pick up over the next few weeks. Getting closer, I just cant wait to meet her now!

Forgot to add- hubby baby weight!

I think my husband got the pregnancy weight! LOL He sometimes eats as much as, if not more than I do! But he has agreed that once we have little Taylor to go on a diet with me, including walks and watching what we eat. I have been searching for the best diet pill to try as a last resort, but plan on doing at least 6 months of just diet and working out, I think that will do wonders. I think it is really important that we BOTH get healthy for the baby, not just for the health and living longer part, but I REFUSE to have a fat lazy child because of my habits, teach by example right?

After Baby Body Plans

I have high hopes that I will drop the baby weight really quickly, especially since I have only gained 4 pounds in the last 30 weeks. And NO, I am not dieting, I was just a bit heavy to begin with! I eat like a pig, everytime I go in to get weighed I expect to see an additional 20 pounds because of the amount I have been eating, but I just haven’t seen any weight. Before I got preggo even diet pills wouldn’t stop the weight gain, now I cant seem to put any on! So, losing the ‘baby weight’ will be easy, it will be loosing the other weight that is the challenge!

The Pregnancy Brain - How to deal

969788_9_months.jpgBeing 30 weeks pregnant I find that my brain has shrunk. The old saying that “baby steals brain cells” is proving true for me. I find myself saying things that make no sense at all and forgetfulness is common. After some research and 30 weeks of dealing I thought it was high time for a little post on the subject.

While getting enough sleep can help greatly, it sometimes has no effect. For myself, some days I take a nap and end up feeling worse after, so finding a good balance can be beneficial. Little tricks like carrying a little notebook and calandar with you to jot down notes and important information help me a lot too. Being organized is key as well, I try to have everything I need on a daily basis kept in one place, I got a cute little basket on the side table by the couch where I keep all of my medicine, everything from Tylenol to antacids are right there in one place instead of all over the house.

A lot of the research I did turned up something that was not surprising, that the flakiness you feel while pregnant may just be our perception. One study found that pregnant women did experience a decline in memory, but only in the third trimester. Interestingly, in a different study, pregnant women rated themselves as having performed worse than they would have before pregnancy, even though they tested just as well as a group that wasn’t pregnant.

Instead of going out and looking for life insurance for seniors and planning on forgetting your name, try to take a breath and relax. You might just be setting yourself up to forget by ‘expecting’ to forget. But who knows?! :-) It will all be worth it in the end, and who cares if we make a few silly mistakes while pregnant, we are going through a lot of changes!
