The best
holiday gift
you can give someone is peace of mind. If you are an aging parent or have an aging parent, find a memory screening location in your area and get screened. This month is Alzheimer’s awareness month. I have been blessed to have not been affected by this disease in my family, but the thought of it does scare me. In terms of me or someone in my family getting it.
The site has a ton of “successful aging tips” for you and your family to inform yourself about the disease. Obviously I am too young to have it, but I do hope someone helps me when I get old and possibly sick. The only way people can help is by arming yourself with knowledge, the more you know the more you can help. I have even thought about volunteering at the local nursing home to visit those that do not get visitors. It is so sad.
I don’t know what I would do if my momma got something like that, it terrifies me to see her helpless, she is such an incredibly strong person, I don’t see it happening! She has a long time before she is old though, she is still in her early 40’s I think… I am not sure anymore! LOL I know I am only 25 (26 in December… eeeeekk!) I am scared of getting older, I feel like I am running out of time to do the things I want to do with my life, even though the world does not stop at 30!
Thanks to the Alzheimer’s Awareness Month for sponsoring this post and enabling me to inform my readers about this special month. It could happen to anyone! Hopefully they will come up with a cure one day and no one has to suffer, but until then, they need help. Donate today.
