And the Winner is……….

purseThis was a close one, and it was worth it, see the contest here! I had amazing results and I am sure that 7Loaves is loving the attention they got! So without going on and on, the winner is Bloggrrl! Below are the screen shots of how I picked a winner.

Bloggrrl, if you see this before I get to you, all I need is your address to send the purse, it is boxed up and ready to go!

My method was to randomly pick from the list, I want to thank Colleen of Geeky Speaky for helping me figure out how to fairly pick out a winner without having to cut up 163 pieces of little paper with names! :-) In order to do this I opened Excel and put everyone in there, in a column, if you had 10 entries you got ten rows. Once everyone was in there I sorted randomly over and over until the list was well mixed up. At that point I used the random number generator to show a random number between 2 and 167 - It showed number 58, which was Bloggrrl!

Entering everyone into excel:

More Organizing Tools for You

label makerHow much ’stuff’ do you have in your house, junk drawers, file cabinets, pantry? If your like me you have an excess of it. The tip I am giving today seems like such a simple suggestion, and I can’t believe I haven’t talked about it yet! Storage and label makers from Cable Organizers! They have a huge selection, lots of good ones for better prices than WalMart. I had my hubby bring the one from work home last night so we could clean out the closet, we went out and bought those big Tupperware bins and some smaller plastic ones and got to work. We actually were able to separate the seasons and bed linens that don’t fit the new bed put up for guests!

Me being a super organized junky wanted to label EVERYTHING, I had taken some pictures of us using it so I could include a more personal touch, but I did something horribly wrong while they were uploading and every one of them got corrupted. :-( This guy is way cuter than me anyhow!

Our next task is going to be the kitchen, I want to start keeping cereal in those plastic tubs for cereal, and label each one, same with all of my seasoning packets and sugar and such. Joseph cant keep the work one here, and he probably shouldn’t be taking it home and using all of the paper. I think the bast place s the one I linked above, Cable Organizer.com. I like the ones in different colors, and there are so many options!

A quick search on google brought this list of tips up, as I know my using it alone won’t help the review, I gotta add in some research! :-) Now you have no reason to deny it, get a label maker! Just don’t get addicted like I am LOL, I am wanting a label on every cabinet and drawer!

– Quit running to the post office or wasting label sheets by
printing internet postage and shipping labels

– Prevent misplaced customer files by printing legible file folder
labels.

– Organize CD/DVD labels to help document successes and
milestones.

– Help make company sponsored events and meetings more professional
by printing name badges with company logos, photos, or even bar
codes.

– Quickly print custom labels for sales presentations - include
company logos on binders, CDs and presentation boards

– Create office critical banners to prevent costly disasters or
mistakes.

The most adorable kitty pictures!

I snapped some pictures yesterday of my kitties in some strange sleeping position. They sleep like this all the time, the baby, “Diva” will sprawl out on anything, and lay flat like the picture. And “Princess” is always twisted around. They are finally getting along but still play a little rough.

They have both been ‘kneading’ me and Joseph all the time. It is so sweet- minus the claws! Ant the baby cries, a lot, she will find your hand and force her head in it and while we are peting her she cries and purrs, I have no idea what her issue is! Take a look at these pictures! TU

They a so spoiled, they sleep with us, hang out in the bathroom whn one of us is in trouble- and the cutest one is the baby, she will sit at my fee looking up and rubbing her face on my legs to signal that she wants up- I tought her that, she used to try to jump up my leg, and that hurt! She is a smart kitty, she picked it up quick!

How to Save $ and Avoid Temptation

savings2.pngSaving money is such an important thing to do, yet according to CNN Money, 22% of Americans have no savings at all. That is too much. A year ago, we had no savings, and we never thought we ever would, finances were so tight. And while we are still tight, we finally have a savings account that stays around 250 or so every week. Some weeks I can only add 5.00, but even that little amount can add up if you keep from dipping into it for miscellaneous junk.

Having money in our ’savings envelope’ helps me to sleep better at night, I no longer fear a flat tire, brakes, etc. We are prepared. My mom used to try to drive it into me to save money, I was just soooo bad at it, and I still am, but using Mvelopes
helps ‘trick me’ - see, I have ‘virtual envelopes’ for ever expense, and I made several savings envelopes, a general savings, a new car savings, new house, and car maintenance one, I put a little in every envelope, so when I glance at the budget, I really only look at the savings, and we might have 100 in there, but on closer look we have about 280 worth of ’savings’ but I only notice the main savings and that helps me not spend money, I want to see it grow!

If your like me, and fall prey to temptations like eating our after a long day, or that shiny new purse, of for me a set of comfy PJ’s, (working from home lets me have every day a casual day :-)) But here are some tips that help me when I am temped.

1. If you have a soft spot for a certain item, stay away from the store that sells it, or at least avoid the section.

2. When going to grocery stores, always bring the exact amount and bring with you a grocery list. If you have limited money in your pocket when in grocery stores, you will be forced to buy only those important things that you need. Preparing a grocery list will also help you get organized and will help you in deciding the things that need to be prioritized.

3. Go to the malls only when needed. Do not go shopping if you do not need anything important to buy. Window-shopping will only tempt you to buy the dress you saw in the boutique even if you don’t really need it.

4. Do not bring your credit cards all the time. Having a credit card in your pocket will only tempt you to buy things that are not necessary. This will also help you lower your balances and have a good credit score. (double positive!)

5. You may want to save money in the bank or invest in time deposits. You will not be tempted to get money from the bank every time you need cash, if they are placed in a time deposit account.

6. You may also want to consider consulting a financial advisor. There are a lot of programs that offer these services for free. They may be able to help you and give you advice on how you can avoid temptations and save more money. Our bank provides this free of charge.
