Money Dilemma

Man… money is horrible! Joseph and I have been working with a budget now for a few months, trying to get ‘ahead’, and it is working, so so… the tax return and free truck took care of alot. We are still so tight, too tight. It is scary. I want to be like most ‘normal’ couples and be able to have 1000 in a savings account. Right now we have $60 in savings and that is earmarked to go towards my Real Estate Exam when it hits 165.00. And keeping that in savings is a task, as with all of our bills we are usually down to 0 or below by the next pay day.

The thing is, we don’t have alot of bills, thats the crappy part! We have no cell phone, car payment, etc; just rent, insurance, credit card (that we no longer use but are paying off) hospital bills, groceries, gas, etc. We seem to always be just a little short every week from where we need to be. Thankfully however, we are no longer in debt up to our eyeballs… more like waist deep, I remember 6 months ago we were even looking into bankruptcy services as an option. That would have been silly. We are managing our debt now, somehow, and hopefully when I finish school, I will get a decent job and after a little while start making enough money where we can afford to have 1000 sitting in a savings account, where we can afford to get insurance. Things like that. I want to be able to go grocery shopping and not stress over paying 3.50 for a gallon of milk, wondering if we ‘really’ need it, you know?

Registered at College

Well, I took the step, yesterday I went and registered and paid to go to Real Estate School, my first class is on Feb. 6th and it will last about a month. I also talked to a number of companies that will be willing to hire me when I graduate, they say they have a 97% after graduation employment rate, the other % usually don’t pass… eeeek… LOL

I am really exited about this, I think I will be able to do it, and be pretty good. Even better, I think I will like it. I am a little nervous though, as financially we are pretty tight, and this 300 school, plus paying another 165.00 for the test and fingerprints is going to be tight, but we went over the budget, and with paying 150 down yesterday, then the other 150 when I get ready to graduate, we should be able to squeeze the 165 out within a few weeks. The biggest problem is that they want you to go ahead and sent the 165.00 ASAP so that you get the approval to take the test as soon as you graduate, as it takes 6 weeks to be approved to even take the test, but, it is ok if i am not able to take the test for a few weeks after I graduate, more time to study. But I wont be able to start ‘working’ till after the test…. LOL… so many details.

I got my books for class yesterday too… wow! Lots of information, luckily I am a pretty quick learner so I dont think I will have any problems… hopefully! LOL

It is 5:09 AM….

Grrrr, I didnt sleep well last night, and the alarm doesn’t go off for another 40 minutes! But here I am, cant get back to sleep. I do not know what is up with Joseph, he has never been a tosser, but goodness! Last night, he was tossing, turning, talking, stealing the covers, etc. He seems to be ok, but I dont know why he would all the sudden start this.

I have a HUGE day ahead of me… I am going to register at Real Estate College, the first classes start on Feb 2nd (or 7th, cant remember now LOL); I am also meeting with the owner of 2 local coffee shoppes, he is looking to get a website developed. Then I have a ton of bills to pay with the tax return, getting the oil changed…. taking Joseph to lunch…. LOL goodness, my day is packed.

The only thing I am worried about is getting a job afterwards, I haven’t worked outside of the house in over a year, so I am hoping that when I finish school, that I will be able to find a company that will let me work part time for a while, and let me get used to working again, I don’t want to set myself up for failure but jumping into a full time out of the home job, you know?

What I am going to do with my life…

Well, I finally came up with a plan… real estate. Joseph and I went to an open house this weekend, and the salesperson was horrible, had food on his face, didn’t know the most basic questions, etc. BUT, he drove an Escalade, had a very expensive suit on and a great lap top. I have thought about this off and on through the years, but if finally took a horrible sales person to make me see it…. if he can do this, heck, I KNOW i can! LOL I have been thinking about this for years! But was always too scared to go through with it. I am going to do this…

So, I am calling around today, and seeing what it takes, there is a school here in town that for only 200.00 you can get your licence. But I am calling companies to see if that is enough, I would hate to spend 200 and not be hired anywhere. I may have to go to a better school in Gainesville. We will see. But I can do this, it would be a great job for me, I sold manufactured homes a while back and I was great at that, so I am sure I can sell a ‘real’ house. Right? What do you think about that career?

I’m back online

Well, after a very long ordeal with the cable company, I am back online. I have a bazillion things to do today too LOL, I am behind in everything. But not having cable gave me a chance to play a new game, the Sims 2, I love it :-) Great way to pass the time, as the new one is so much more fun than the first one, but as always I will play it almost daily for about a week, then tire of it! I always do that with games. Oh well, it is fun while it lasts.

Joseph and I are getting out tax return check this evening. And it is already spent. But on good things that we may not even see right now, but will help us loads in the future. I am as exited to pay off old bills as I would be to use it buying clothes. That shows I am getting older doesn’t it?
